Mongolia trusts Cuba’s work at the helm of G-77

Mongolian Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh expressed her confidence in Cuba's work as president of the Group of 77 (G-77) for the benefit of the organization and the international community, it was reported here on Friday.

At a meeting with Cuban Ambassador in Ulaanbaatar Jorge Ferrer, the Mongolian foreign minister congratulated the Caribbean island on this important mission, and assured that under its leadership the members of the G-77 will work actively for their interests, according to the Montsame news agency.

They will engage in multilateral cooperation aimed at overcoming and resolving challenges such as recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic, poverty, economic crises, food and energy crises, and geopolitical tensions, the head of Mongolian diplomacy noted.

Battsetseg Batmunkh also wished Cuba success in its commitment to protect the interests of these states at the United Nations.

For his part, Ambassador Jorge Ferrer conveyed to the Mongolian Foreign Minister greetings and a letter from his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodriguez.

He also thanked Mongolia for its interest in participating in the upcoming international event Pedagogy 2023, to be held in Havana from January 30 to February 3.

A Mongolian delegation, headed by Deputy Minister of Education and Science G. Ganbayar, is expected to attend that educational event.
