Brasilia, July 2 (RCH)-- The leader of the Brazilian Workers' Party (PT), Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, has reiterated that if he wins the presidential elections next October, he will work on the reconstruction of the country and will advance in the fight against several social problems that the population is currently facing.

The former Brazilian president urged the union of national intelligence to regain happiness and social welfare to the people.  "I will not be a president who is thinking about his reelection, but about governing the country for four years so that Brazilians may recover, definitively, social welfare, joy and pleasure of living," he declared to a local media.

Lula added that, if elected, he will guarantee social peace in society, establish a relationship of brotherhood with governors and mayors, because he believes that it is not possible for a country to function by stimulating hatred and divergences.

"The bankers won't vote for me.  They smell for me and say: 'This face is from the Northeast, he will want to increase the worker's salary, the people will travel by plane.'  They want someone who doesn't look like me that they can trust.  But Brazil needs government for all, with priority for the poorest."

Lula currently leads the polls on Brazilians' voting intentions for the October elections, with more than 40 percent approval, while the head of state, Jair Bolsonaro, has 30 percent.
