Buenos Aires, May 25 (Prensa Latina) Cuban ambassador to Argentina, Pedro Pablo Prada, highlighted the legacy of Latin American leaders Fidel Castro (1926-2016), Hugo Chávez (1954-2013) and Néstor Kirchner (1950-2010) and greeted the people of this nation on the Day of the Homeland.

On the 212th anniversary of the May Revolution, we remember those giants who contributed to open roads to the Patria Grande, the diplomat wrote on Twitter.

He also said that the thinking of the leaders of Cuba, Venezuela and this country is a guide in an uncertain world in crisis, and their examples renew faith in ideas, unity and victory.

Argentina, Cuba in solidarity embraces you. May the verses of your national anthem always come true: “Crowned with glory let us live or swear with glory to die”, he added.

On this day, Argentines commemorate the events of May 25, 1810, when a group of patriots led by Manuel Belgrano, Cornelio Saavedra, Juan José Antonio Castelli and Antonio Luis Beruti, among others, ousted the viceroy Baltasar Hidalgo de Cisneros and formed the first criollo government in the Cabildo.

These events are considered the first great step on the road to the independence of this country from Spanish colonial rule, declared on July 9, 1816.

Also, on this date, citizens remember the arrival of Kirchner to the Government in 2003, who promoted a process of political and social transformations.
