Latin American Film Festival feels Cuban actress Broselianda's death

Havana, Nov 19 (Prensa Latina) The president of the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, Ivan Giroud, regretted on Thursday the recent death of the prominent actress Broselianda Hernandez, whom he described as one of the great Cuban film actresses.
 
The news of her death shocked everyone, not only cinema lovers, but also culture in general, as she was united by a great friendship with several members of all the country's institutions, Giroud noted.

On Twitter, the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba extended its condolences to relatives and friends of Hernandez, who died at 56 years old, a victim of drowning.

Meanwhile, Cuba's Minister of Culture Alpidio Alonso tweeted his condolences and referred to her as a truly unique actress who stood out for her extraordinary work and talent.

Graduated from the Higher Institute of Art of Cuba, Broselianda Hernandez was part of numerous programmes including soup operas of national television; meanwhile, she deserved several recognitions for her proven talent in the scene of the performing arts of the country.

The actress also stood out for her interpretation of Mrs. Leonor Perez's character in the renowned feature film 'Jose Marti, the Eye of the Canary,' by Fernando Perez, in which she played Jose Marti's mother.
