Int'l treaty honors Fidel Castro, says Foreign Minister

The entry into force of the Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) will honor the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro´s thought, Bruno Rodríguez, Minister of Foreign Affairs, stressed.

On Twitter, Bruno Rodríguez pointed out that with the TPNW implementation on January 22, 2021, Fidel Castro´s humanist ideology is reached, 'a tireless fighter for nuclear disarmament.'

'These nuclear weapons are inhumane, immoral, ethically indefensible and illegal too,' Cuban Foreign Minister lived-tweeted.

Generally speaking, the TPNW bans the use, development, production, testing, storage and threat of this type of weapons.

It was passed by the UN General Assembly on July 2017, backed by 122 nations, is the first legally binding multilateral tool for nuclear disarmament.
