Havana, Sep 23 (Prensa Latina) The International Festival of New Latin American Cinema convenes Cuban filmmakers and producers to participate in the Market and Distribution Meeting, which will take place during the 43rd edition of the event.

Organized by the Festival’s Industry section and scheduled for December 5-7 in Havana, the event is sponsored by the French Embassy and the Solidarity Fund for Innovative Projects, in collaboration with the agencies Urban Sales (France), Punctum Sales (Argentina) and Marvin&Wayne Short Films (Spain).

According to the group in charge of the event, this space will promote the exchange of ideas on marketing in the film industry from an academic point of view, as an essential element in the production cycle of the films.

To demonstrate this premise, 15 Cuban films will be selected to compete in different categories of feature and short films in the fiction, animation and documentary genres, according to a press release issued by the institution.

The event is part of the calendar of activities of the Havana Film Festival, which will take place from December 1 to 11 with an extensive program of presentations, as it recently closed the registration process with 2,000 films and 300 scripts.

A new feature this year will be the Diversity Award for the best Latin American queer-themed work, to be selected by an independent jury appointed by the Festival.
