The call to grant the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize to the Henry Reeve medical brigades has been supported on line through several initiatives in France, where web surfers from all over the world echoed the demand on Monday.

International solidarity is not a simple phrase for Cuba, which deserves support instead of the United States blockade, according to one of 618 comments on the MesOpinions.com website, where the request to grant the Nobel Peace Prize to the Cuban doctors who are fighting Covid-19 was posted.

'For their courage, abnegation and the value of their example for the world,' one of the users wrote on the French website, which contains more than 2,200 signatures in favor of the award.

Another visitor explained his support for the Nobel Peace Prize for the Cuban medical brigades by saying that these men and women who wear white coats risk their life to help the needy in the world.

The Henry Reeve Contingent was created in 2005 by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, after Hurricane Katrina hit the US. Since then, thousands of Cuban doctors have rendered their services in Latin American, Caribbean, Asian and African countries affected by natural disasters and epidemics.

In the current Covid-19 context, Cuba's assistance reached Western Europe for the first time.
