Fidel's legacy and the constant struggle against the genocidal blockade imposed against Cuba has manifested itself within Cuban culture in young creators. The visual arts have proven to be a good example in that regard. As an artistic expression, it comprehends the traditional plastic arts. The expressions that are incorporated into the new visualities within contemporary art and whose greatest expressive component is visual, such as photography.

In this case, the vision of reality where the artist shows his feelings of gratitude towards the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro while denouncing the criminal blockade against his country, captures the precise word with the lens of his camera, created with old iron in a construction of beauty and strength that leaves a much deeper message.

The photographic works of artist Denys San Jorge Rodríguez, made at the time of the pandemic, were launched in recent days at the International Press Center of the Cuban Foreign Ministry. San Jorge is a young creator from the Artemisa province, from the Bauta municipality. He graduated from the prestigious San Alejandro Art Academy. He has participated in personal and collective exhibitions both in the country and abroad.

Deputy Minister Josefina Vidal attended the inauguration of the photo exhibition (large-scale images), and she stated through the social networks Facebook and Twitter: “It was a great honor to accompany Denys San Jorge Rodríguez at the inauguration of his works #Fidel, #AbajoElBloqueo.” These works will remain exhibited at the headquarters of the International Press Center of Cuba.

The celebration was also attended by the Provincial Director of Culture of Artemisa, Ivón Álvarez, as well as other officials and the general public who accompanied the artist in the exhibition launch.
