The 26th International Handicraft Fair, FIART 2024, which will showcase new textile art, will open its doors from December 6 to December 22 at the Pabexpo fairgrounds in Havana.

More than 230 Cuban exhibitors and some 30 foreigners will show off their creations, ranging from footwear and authentic clothing to decorative and jewelry pieces.

The FIART 2024 program will include a panel on the TelArte project, led by creators from the province of Villa Clara, which will address the benefits of an event that has promoted Cuban artisanal fashion since the 1980s.

Workshops focused on art appreciation, doll making, weaving, and papier-mâché will be noteworthy.

There will also be fashion shows, Mexican music performances and exchanges with prominent Cuban and foreign designers, who, each year, exhibit their skills with textiles and accessories, among many other materials.

The Cuban Association of Artisan Artists (ACAA), will show works from all the artistic manifestations awarded in its national saloons.

As usual, the FIART 2024 awards will be given in the Product and Stand categories, and the Recognition for the Work of a Lifetime.

Organized by the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets, the Fair has become a meeting place for genuine art and its cultivators, while enjoying the public’s preference for its varied and attractive proposals.
