Paris, Jun 15 (Prensa Latina) The Europe for Cuba channel on Wednesday congratulated Prensa Latina news agency on its 63rd anniversary, and described it as the voice of the voiceless and a space for peoples' resistance.

According to the channel, Prensa Latina represents an informative trench, which in today’s troubled world remains faithful to its founding function of defending Cuba and the Third World.

We appreciate the scope of this trench, Europe for Cuba highlighted regarding the creation of the news agency on June 16, 1959, with headquarters in Havana and present in 40 countries on four continents.

Europe for Cuba affirmed that the news agency is the result of the political acumen and bright spirit of Fidel Castro and Ernesto Che Guevara, and that with it a revolution in continental journalism, thanks to its alternative vision to the prevailing then with information monopolies.

In the face of media hegemony and the millionaire sums allocated for manipulation and disinformation, Prensa Latina constitutes a space of resistance at the service of the truth of the peoples of the Americas and the rest of the world, the channel pointed out.
