Ecuador prepares 2nd edition of Equis Feminist Film Festival

Quito, Nov 8 (Prensa Latina) Ecuador is currently preparing for the 2nd edition of the Equis Feminist Film Festival, which this time will be virtual, taking into account the existing restrictions due to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

According to the organizers, the event, scheduled for November 11-22, will be held virtually due to the need to maintain the generation of discussions and questions about the different types of gender violence experienced by women and girls.

The program includes 24 films from 12 countries, including Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Cuba, Ecuador, the United States, Spain, France, Mexico, Peru and Switzerland.

'The 2nd edition of the film festival will portray strong and struggling women, making visible and questioning the different types of gender violence experienced by women and girls,' organizers noted.

In parallel, the Forum on Feminist Economy and a Conversation on Women in Ecuadorian Cinema will be held.
