Díaz-Canel reiterates Cuba’s firm and unwavering solidarity with Venezuela

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel sent a message on Saturday to the authorities and people of Venezuela, reaffirming the island’s support for the South American nation in the face of U.S. hostility.

Díaz-Canel urged leftist organizations and the peoples of the world to denounce the increased hostility from the White House against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

“We also denounce with equal firmness the encouragement and financing of terrorist plots against Venezuela,” he added in the statement delivered at a rally in support of the South American nation held in front of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples in Havana.

The Cuban president emphasized the importance of continuing the ideas and examples of leaders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez in confronting imperialist domination.

“May the solidarity and unwavering unity between our peoples be our shields,” the head of state declared.

Hundreds of Havana residents gathered at Saturday’s event in support of Venezuela, including the Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez, and the Venezuelan ambassador to Havana, Orlando Maneiro.
