The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, confirmed today that the Cuban Central Government is sending supplies to support the fight against the pandemic across Cuba, especially in the province of Matanzas —territory with the worst figures.

In his Twitter profile, the Cuban head of state ratified that Matanzas’ authorities are working hard to make new capacities available in hospitals and isolation centers with the goal of progressively reduce the number of positive cases to Covid-19.

“We are working hard to enable new bed capacities in hospitals about the sudden rise in the number of cases. From the Central Government, supplies to strengthening the fight against the pandemic are being sent.

No Cuban territory is being left alone in this fight, which is actually everyone’s fight,” posted Diaz-Canel.

The also First Secretary of Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) said that health personnel brigades from other provinces will be deployed in the Athens of Cuba, as a sign of the solidarity and humanism of Cuba’s White Coats Army.

“Brigades of the country will support #Matanzas in order to overcome the worst epidemiological situation in the nation. Our health personnel are up to the task and build bridges to assist in the darkest hours. Thanks, again, for so much altruism. #SomosCuba,” the President posted.

Diaz-Canel also reiterated that unity has always been a hallmark in the Cuban Revolution behavior and to prove it right, many working groups led by several members of the government's Secretariat and deputy Prime Ministers of the Republic are deployed across the most affected provinces. Same with some members of the Secretariat of the Central Committee who are supporting the efforts of the provinces showing an increase in the number of infected individuals.

“Working groups involving several members of the government’s Secretariat and deputy Prime Ministers are being deployed across provinces with high contagion rate to assist in every possible way. Unity has characterized our struggles and it will not be any different now. #FuerzaCuba. #ViviremosYVenceremos,” the Cuban President added in his Twitter post.

As of Monday, the provinces of Havana, Matanzas, Camaguey, and Santiago de Cuba recorded the highest figure of positive cases to SARS-CoV-2 even though the virus remains widely spread all over the nation.
