Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel described on Tuesday the meeting with Iranian entrepreneurs as useful and elaborated on business opportunities in Cuba and its exportable offers.

On his X account, the Cuban president informed that the participants’ interest and the possibilities of expanding economic and commercial relations between the two countries can be fostered.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez also expressed on the same social platform that Díaz-Canel and Iranian businessmen expressed their desire and willingness to increase economic, commercial, and investment relations with Cuba, and they were given an overview of the existing potential in several sectors.

Tuesday marks the last day of the stay of Díaz-Canel and his delegation in Iran. During a Monday tour in the Pasteur Institute in Tehran, he urged to develop joint projects in the scientific field.

The Cuban president highlighted the successful collaboration experience between that research center and the Finlay Vaccines Institute in Cuba, in the joint production of vaccines during the Covid-19 pandemic.

A contract for transferring knowledge on vaccines and a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation between the Pasteur Institute of Iran and the Finlay Vaccines Institute in Cuba for the clinical and preclinical development of immunizers, were signed as part of the visit.

On Monday, Díaz-Canel also met with President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, President of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran.

Likewise, he held talks with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who praised Cuba’s stance on the situation in Palestine and stressed the need to build a coalition among countries that share a stance on the West’s coercive policies.

The leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran recalled that he received Díaz-Canel in the same way as he met with the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, 22 years ago, and of whom he highlighted his sincerity and revolutionary positions.
