Caracas, Mar 24 (Prensa Latina) The Association of Cuban Residents in Venezuela (Accreven) continues coordinating works and preparing for the VI Regional Meeting, which will be held in June, in the state of La Guaira.

In a message sent to Prensa Latina, it was reported that in a meeting held the day before, strategies were outlined in order to achieve the greatest success in the most important event that brings together Cubans living in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The meeting was held in this capital with the participation of the General Consul of Havana in Caracas, Ulises Barquín, part of the National Board of Directors of Accreven, headed by its president Orelbis Reyes, and the International Relations work team of the Government of La Guaira.

This VI Regional Meeting of Cuban Residents in Latin America and the Caribbean will be held between June 16 and 18 in La Guaira. The denunciation of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States, for more than 60 years, will be among its central topics of debate.

In exclusive statements to Prensa Latina last February, the president of Accreven in the Capital District, Daniel Alberto Acosta, revealed that delegates from Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Dominican Republic and other country fellows residing in the region are already confirmed to assist.

He stated that the Association is a project that arose from the idea of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro (1926-2016), to work for the union of the nation and its emigration.
