Havana, Sep 24 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Friday regretted the death of activist Magali Llort, a fighter for the return of the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters, who served unjust prison terms in the United States.

The president wrote on his Twitter account that Cuba 'with deep sorrow' says good bye to the mother of one of these heroes, who is the president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Fernando Gonzalez Llort.

The five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters were imprisoned for more than 15 years in the United States for working to alert about violent actions planned from there against their country.

During this period, Magali Llort actively joined the mothers and wives of Rene Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero, Ramon Labañino and Gerardo Hernandez, in the campaign for their release from prison.

Previously, she worked at the National Bank and the Union of Construction Companies of the Caribbean.

She was a member of the National People's Power Assembly, and was awarded with the 'Mariana Grajales' Order and the 'August 23' Medal, granted by the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC).
