Cuban president congratulates outstanding actor Mario Balmaseda

Havana, Mar 13 (Prensa Latina) Cuban actor Mario Balmaseda, who was granted the National Cinema Award, was congratulated on Saturday on Twitter by President Miguel Diaz-Canel.
In his tweet, Diaz-Canel described Balmaseda's performances on the TV series 'En silencio ha tenido que ser' and the film Baragua, as unforgettable, adding that we learned to know and love our heroes.
His villains helped us to assess the enemy, Diaz-Canel tweeted.
On Thursday, Balmaseda was granted the National Cinema Award as an acknowledgement of his versatility and career in Cuban films, theater and television, Cubacine's website reported.
The jury that granted the award was made up of Scriptwriter Senel Paz, Actress Paula Ali, Producer Lourdes Garcia, Director of Photography Raul Rodriguez, Musician Ulises Hernandez, Director Enrique Alvarez and Film Critic Carlos Galiano.
