Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel arrived Saturday at Vnukovo airport in the capital of the Russian Federation, where he was received by Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko.   The President responded to an invitation from his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

In Russia, Díaz-Canel will hold meetings with the highest authorities of the Slavic country, including President Putin, as well as with important businessmen and a representation of Cubans living in the Eurasian nation.

A significant moment of the President's stay in Moscow will be the inauguration of a monument to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on the 22nd in the square of the same name in the Sokol district.

The current visit to the Russian Federation by the Cuban president is the second in his capacity as head of state. The previous visit took place from October 27 to 30, 2019, during which he also held a meeting with Putin.
