Madrid, Feb 24 (Prensa Latina) Cuban jumper Juan Miguel Hechevarria won on Wednesday with a jump of eight meters and 14 centimeters at the Athletic Meeting in Madrid, and maintained his undefeated record in the current season of the indoor discipline.

Hechevarria, world bronze medalist in the long jump, achieved his most discreet victory so far in 2021; however, among all the competitors, he was the only one to surpass eight meters.

The rest of the jumps were below his usual performance, but the first stretch was enough to relegate to second position Vladyslav Mazur, from Ukraine, who achieved 7.98 in his third opportunity, while the bronze went to German Maximilian Entholzner with 7.81.

For Juan Miguel this is his third success in the current season after winning in Karlsruhe and Lievin, with 8.18 and 8.25 respectively, results that place him at the top of the Winter Indoor Tour.
