Cuban Government prepares measures to increase supplies

The Cuban Government is preparing measures to increase supplies to the population and contain inflation, which President Miguel Diaz-Canel called to work on.

Diaz-Canel also called to design a comprehensive policy to deal with the private sector of the economy, in addition to deepening teleworking and digital procedures.

“There are modalities which were improved during the Covid-19 pandemic, but we have been going backwards,” the head of State admitted.

Among the priorities is advancing in the new concepts regarding the execution of municipal budgets and territorial development under the leadership of the ministries of Economy and Planning, and Finance and Prices, the president added.

The updating of social programs and the rethinking of several concepts of the Housing Policy will also be prioritized, on the basis of the demands from public policies to be developed, “especially for young people,” he stated.

The president stressed that among the urgencies is the design of popular control mechanisms to deal with the rise in prices and the confrontation of corruption.
