According to a report on Cuban television, on May 15, the CEN will officially present the detailed report on this process to the National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament).

In this sense, the Minister of Justice, Oscar Silvera explained the drafting commission will assess all the criteria of the citizens on the Family Code and will make decisions based on the impacts and suggested changes.

“Furthermore, the norm will be analyzed by the deputies of the Parliament who will debate it and can carry out transformations they deem pertinent. After this process, the project will be taken to a popular referendum”, he referred.

The popular consultation scheme for the Families Code project began in the island on February 24 and ended on April 30, with more than 78,000 meetings held throughout the country.
