Cuba reports 47 new cases and 26 recoveries from Covid-19

Some 47 new Covid-19 cases were detected and 26 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last few hours, the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported on Tuesday.

According to the epidemiological report, no deaths were reported on Monday and the death toll remains at 127 since the pandemic emerged in the country in March.

With this 47 cases, the country accumulates 6,305 people diagnosed with the virus, causing Covid-19, in almost eight months.

Some 5,806 patients were recovered from the disease, so the recovery rate is 92.1%.

About 6,699 samples were tested on Monday in several molecular biology labs throughout the country, totaling 756,623 PCR tests so far, the report says.

The new cases are Cubans, 45 of them were contacts of confirmed cases and the source of infection has not been confirmed in two cases.

Some 28 of 47 new cases reported on Monday were asymptomatic when the PCR test was made.

The new cases are from the Cuban provinces of Pinar del Rio (31) and Santi Spiritus (16).

About 2,959 patients are in hospitals with Covid-19 for clinical-epidemiological surveillance, 2,111 of them are under surveillance, 478 are suspects, and 370 are active cases.

Of the active patients, 363 are clinically stable, two are in critical health condition and five are seriously ill.
