Cuba reported 129 new Covid-19 cases and no deaths

Havana, Aug 5 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) on Friday reported 129 new Covid-19 cases and no deaths due to complications related to the disease in the last 24 hours.

According to the daily report from MINSAP, all molecular biology laboratories in Cuba performed 1,925 PCR tests in real time on Thursday to detect the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Of 490 active cases reported nationwide, 480 are clinically stable, while 10 seriously-ill patients are being treated at intensive care units.

At a press briefing on television, MINSAP added that 102 patients were discharged after recovering from the disease, so the total number of recovered patients rose to 1,099,543 (99.2 percent of all cases).

So far, Cuba has accumulated 1,108,621 contagions since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country in March 2020.

According to the official report, the death toll remains at 8,529.
