Cuba reaffirms new Family Code with 66.85 percent support

Havana, Oct 4 (Prensa Latina) Cuba´s National Electoral Council (CNE) on Tuesday announced the final results of the new Family Code referendum, approved by 3,950,288 people (66.85%).

The CNE President Alina Balseiro recalled that 6,269,427 Cubans (74.12%) exercised their right to free, direct and secret vote.

Sunday´s last report, also revealed that 1,959,097 Cubans (33.15% of the 5,909,385 legitimate ballots) opposed the new law.
