Cuba improves recovery rate of Covid-19 to 85.5%

Cuba reported today that 110 patients were clinically discharged from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, amounting to 4,040 people recovered from that disease, for a recovery rate of 85.5%.

In his daily report to the nation, the national chief of Epidemiology, Dr. Francisco Duran, pointed out that 42 people tested positive for the virus on the island on Sunday among 7,380 samples analized, which brings the total number of positive samples to 4,726 since the outbreak of the epidemic on March 11.

Currently, he indicated there are 576 active patients hospitalized, of which 559 are evolving without complications, there are 5 in critical condition and 12 seriously ill.

There were no deaths during Sunday, so the death toll remains intact at 108, which represents a lethality of 2.28%.

By age, there are NO deaths in the group of 0-19 years; 2 among 20-39 year olds; 18, between 40-59; 45, rom 60-79 year olds; and 43, 80 year olds and above; in other words, 81.48% of the dead are over 60 years of age.
