Cuba continues recovery actions at Matanzas fire zone
Matanzas, Cuba, Sep 21 (Prensa Latina) More than a month after the beginning of the recovery works following the Matanzas death-dealing fire, actions continue with the purpose of recovering the affected areas.
Rogelio Leyva, member of the provincial Secretariat of the Cuban Workers Federation (CTC), said work is progressing in the 16 actions planned in present recovery time with the joint work of the Ministries of Communications, Energy and Mines, Industry and Construction.
Bulldozing the four destroyed oil storage tanks, reestablishing the water pipelines to the industrial zone and casting of foundations for installing brand-new piping systems represent top-priority work in the affected region, Leyva stated.
Over 3,500 cubic meters of earth moved and relocation of damaged materials to be used as raw materials showed how great the works done at the industrial zone have been, with a marked protagonism of the country´s union movements, Leyva added.
