Cuba and Argentina ratified on Friday their interest in strengthening cooperation relations in health and biotechnology for the well-being of both peoples.

To that end, Cuba's Minister of Public Health, José Ángel Portal, and his Argentine counterpart, Carla Vizzotti, signed on Friday a letter of intent that includes the will to collaborate in the anti-Covid-19 immunization of the population of the two countries and others in Latin America and the Caribbean.

According to the information disclosed on the web page of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, the anti-Covid-19 vaccine candidates developed in this Caribbean nation will be used.

The executing entities of this new cooperation are the Ministry of Health of the Nation, on the Argentinean side, and on the Cuban side, the Group of Biotechnological and Pharmaceutical Industries.

This collaboration will be developed on the basis of respect for the legislation in force in both States and in accordance with the principles of international law, according to the document that was signed at the Center for the State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices, the regulatory authority of the Caribbean island.
