The Cortes Flute Ensemble, founded by renowned Cuban musician Jose Luis Cortes alias “El Tosco” (The rough one) will perform this week at the Theater Hall of the National Museum of Fine Arts, directed by Orlando Valle “Maraca,” local press announced on Monday.
The event has been scheduled for October 11 at 7:00 p.m. local time, at the Museum’s Cuban Art Building, as a celebration for the 21st anniversary of the Cortes Flute Ensemble, featuring Argentinian quena player Rodrigo Sosa, the Museum said on Facebook.
This flute ensemble, the only one of its kind in the country, will also feature Belinda Guerra. Camerata Cortes is a continuation of the musical legacy of Jose Luis Cortes, and is made up of young and talented flute players graduated from Cuba’s art schools.
