Madrid, Mar 27 (Prensa Latina) Different aspects of the potential for cooperation between Cuba and Spain were analyzed at a meeting held in Toledo, 82 kilometers from this capital.

The meeting, the third of its kind, was sponsored by the NGO SODePaz (Solidarity for Development and Peace), based in the San Servando Castle, where an update on different topics was given.

As SODePaz explained to Prensa Latina, the meetings addressed issues such as the regulatory change in Cuba; local development and the role of municipalities; gender strategy in cooperation; and respect for the environment.

They also discussed the impact of climate change and renewable energies, as well as value chains in agricultural production.

The inauguration was attended by Dr. Guadalupe Martín González, Deputy Minister of Social Welfare (International Cooperation) of Toledo.

Laura Soler, representing the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment (Mincex) and René Capote, Economic Counselor of the Cuban Embassy in Spain, also participated.

Six Cuban speakers from the University of Moa, a representative of the municipality of Jesús Menéndez and ECOVIDA from Pinar del Río spoke during the weekend’s sessions.

On Saturday, the documentary ‘Tarea Vida de Cuba’ was screened in the presence of its producer Helen Yaffe.
