Communist Parties of Cuba and China hold theoretical event on construction of socialism

Havana, March 23 (RHC)--The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba,  Miguel Diaz-Canel, greeted Wednesday the participants in the 4th Theoretical Seminar between the Communist Party of Cuba and the Communist Party of China, which will last until Thursday.

¨"In the construction of socialism with its own characteristics, which you and we are undertaking, we have also considered ourselves mutual references. The best expression of all that unites us, over and above our differences, are the common challenges, ideological identification, political trust, and maturity that characterize the bonds of friendship between our nations," Diaz-Canel pointed out.

The leader of the Cuban Communist Party added that in Cuba, its people are defending the unquestionable right of a small socialist country, located only 90 miles away from the United States and without great natural resources, to exist as a sovereign and independent nation and to creatively resist the combined effect of the pandemic and an intensified blockade. 

He stressed that the exchange of experiences and the excellent inter-party relations between Cuba and China would continue to be promoted.

The  4th  Theoretical Seminar between the two Communist Parties is being held virtually, with messages from the top leaders of both nations.

The Cuban delegation is headed by the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the PCC, Roberto Morales Ojeda, and the Chinese delegation by Hoang Kunming, member of the Political Bureau, of the Secretariat and head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the  Communist Party of China.

Other members of the Secretariat, officials from various Departments of the CPC Central Committee, specialists, and experts from multiple institutions are also participating.

The meeting addresses issues of socio-economic development and political and ideological work at the center of the priorities of the Communist Party of Cuba and  and the Communist Party of China.
