Colombian Communist Party sends greetings to Cuba on National Rebellion Day

Bogota, July 27 (RHC)-- The Colombian Communist Party sent warm greetings and solidarity to the people and government of Cuba on the occasion of the celebration of the National Rebellion Day. 

In a communiqué, this political force recalled that the assault to the Moncada Barracks in Santiago de Cuba and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes in Bayamo awakened the transforming spirit in Latin America.

"For Colombia this anniversary of the Revolutionary struggle of the Cuban people coincides with the eve of the accession to the command of a democratic government, long contemplated by the alternative forces and popular movements, which see in the unity and integration of Latin America a horizon of present and future for our peoples," he said.

The Colombian communists reaffirmed by means of this text, the recognition of the generosity of the Cuban government and people towards peace in Colombia and their invaluable contribution to the development of the dialogues and conversations that can make it definitely possible.

It also reaffirmed its rejection of the persistence of the U.S. blockade of Cuba with the serious responsibility that affects the living conditions of millions of Cuban citizens.

"This new moment of Colombian life has to be one of reaffirmation of the unbreakable friendship with socialist Cuba and the support, solidarity and friendship among the peoples of our continent," emphasized the Colombian Communist Party.
