El Nuevo Herald amplified on Wednesday what Senator Bob Menéndez said about the Cuban "Henrry Reeve" medical missions.

He asked Joe Biden to increase his diplomatic ties with the international community and as a whole, put an end to the so-called Cuban medical missions.

Also in a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, he warned that Cuba "is taking advantage of the pandemic" to increase its presence in Mexico and elsewhere.

"I ask the State Department to use all diplomatic channels to urge our allies, including Mexico, to stop participating in the human trafficking practices of the Cuban regime", Menéndez wrote.

"Instead of protecting its frontline healthcare workers, Cuba is using the global pandemic as an opportunity to export them even more and seize their income."

The Herald recalled that Menéndez is one of the leaders of the Bill to Combat the so-called Trafficking of Cuban Doctors, presented in 2021 in the United States.

The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, this Saturday, during his opening speech of the VI Summit of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), affirmed that Cuba is an “example of resistance” and proposed that the entire island be declared a World Heritage Site.

Before him, among other examples, several solidarity organizations supported the proposal for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2020, to the Cuban medical brigades, launched by the French organization Cuba Linda and the France-Cuba Committee for their contribution to the global confrontation against COVID -19.

The political forces and trade unions of Spain, Ireland, Italy, among others, and especially the case of Italy stand out.

Some of the defenders of that recognition even advocate expanding the campaign to an international committee.

The Departmental Union of the General Confederation of Labor of France of Bocas del Ródano, the Committee of Toulouse France-Cuba, and the Spanish Euskadi Cuba, Cubainformación.tv, Communists of Catalonia, and the National Association of Italy-Cuba Friendship joined the request.

It’s also supported by the Cell of the Brazilian Workers Party of Paris, the International Committee for Peace, Justice, and Dignity for the Peoples, the ALBA-TCP, the Support Group for Cuba in Ireland and the Valencian Association of Friendship with Cuba José Martí in Spain.

Is it enough for the renowned Senator Bob Menéndez? Otherwise, we a lot more to say.
