They are constantly working at the training rooms of the Cuba’s National Ballet. The season performances at the Avellaneda hall of the National Theater continues on Saturday, but with other program. What remains is the vocation to integrate different ways of assuming dance.

Those who claim the company directed by Viengsay Valdés for the replacement of works from the academic repertoire will be able to enjoy one of the most emblematic performances of tradition: the second act of Swan Lake, in Alicia Alonso's version of the original version by Petipa and Ivanov. This is a famous act, performed by all the great companies in the world. Alicia's version stands out for its dramatic clarity, and for the assimilation of stylistic hallmarks of the Cuban school of ballet.

And by Chaicovsky, the composer of the score, the first week's program includes Celeste, a piece based on the concerto for violin and orchestra by the Russian composer. The Belgian-Colombian choreographer Anabelle López Ochoa displays a dynamic neoclassical framework, in which the male dance group plays an essential role.

To complete the night, Three Preludes, one of the most staged works by British choreographer Ben Stevenson, with music by Serguei Rachmaninov.

From April 6, the program will be added to the program La forma del rojo, choreographed by Ely Regina Hernández with music by Ezio Bosso, a piece of marked plasticity.

First dancers Viengsay Valdés, Anette Delgado, Sadaise Arencibia, Grettel Morejón, Dani Hernández and Yankiel Vázquez, and other leading stars from the company, such as Chavela Riera, Daniela Gómez, Darío Hernández, María Luisa Márquez, Yasiel Hodelin, Ányelo Montero and Marcel Gutiérrez, will star in these performances.

The National Ballet of Cuba opens the so-called month of dance at the Avellaneda hall with performances to please all its potential audiences. Tickets are on sale at the National Theater box office, from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 p.m., and on Sundays from 10:00 a.m.
