Cali, Colombia, Nov 25 (Prensa Latina) Winning for the greatest athlete, Fidel Castro, was the commitment assumed here on Thursday by the young athletes who will represent Cuba at the 1st Cali Valle 2021 Junior Pan-American Games.

We will do our best in the competition and be up to the task of what these times demand, member of the badminton team Thalia Mengana said at a heartfelt ceremony in memory of the fifth anniversary of the death of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.

Another orator, deputy director of the “Cerro Pelado” Comprehensive Training of the Higher School of Training of High Performance Athletes (ESFAAR), Alejandro Mas, recited some decimas written by him in which he urged to fight with the Commander in Chief’s vigor.

“Fight with his force; let the land shake; and if we fight hard in Cali, we will do it for the Granma, Cerro Pelado, the Moncada and the Sierra,” he said.

Almost a hundred Cuban athletes from the baseball, boxing, cycling, weigh-lifting, badminton, swimming, athletics, archery, diving, sport shooting, canoeing and triathlon teams have arrived in Colombia.
