Luanda, Aug 19 (Prensa Latina) TAAG-Angolan Airlines on Friday announced that it will resume its commercial flights to Havana, the capital of Cuba, as of November, which were interrupted during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a press release, disclosed by the Angop agency, the company based the resumption of the destination as of a positive assessment of business on intercontinental routes linked to America and Europe.

According to the source, Angola and Cuba share strong historical connections and exchange of passengers, mainly due to the entry of the island’s corporate sector (doctors and teachers) and travel in the opposite direction for tourism, education and health.

The flights from Luanda to Havana will begin as of November 8, they would be operated by a Boeing 777-300 aircraft, with flights every two weeks that month, weekly in December and biweekly in February 2023, the report stated.

The company also plans to increase flights to Madrid, Spain, with an additional weekly flight in response to higher demand levels and aircraft occupancy rates.
