Works by Austrian Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and German Ludwig van Beethoven will play the leading role of a recital that pay homage to Japanese master Yoshikazu Fukumura on his 70th birthday.

The famous Emperor concerto, considered the last for piano created by Beethoven, is also included in the program to be held at the Covarrubias Hall of the National Theater of Cuba.

With a remarkable international career as a conductor, Fukumura has worked since the 1990s with the major Cuban symphony orchestras.

The recital of June 18 is a unique event as it will be the first time that Fernandez, one of the best pianists in the world, and the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso will share the stage to pay homage to the Japanese maestro.
