According to Tiempo, the pop star will offer a whopping 31 free concerts starting Jan. 1, 2016 through the end of the month as a gesture of gratitude for fans that have stood by him through recent tough times. The concerts are slated to take place in the Auditorio Nacional, which will cancel all bookings it currently has in January to accommodate the superstar known as "El Sol."

The singer was forced to cancel a plethora of prior engagements, including parts of U.S. tour that had him performing at Madison Square Garden, due to health complications.

Back in November, the artist interrupted a concert in Mexico after only 15 minutes of difficulty singing. The concert was cancelled and fans were offered the opportunity to apply for refunds and new tickets to future concerts starring the superstar. He also cancelled a performance in Yucatan in February.

This new series of concerts is slated to kick off a big year for the star in the right way. He is expected to go on tour with Alejandro Fernandez in one of the musical events of the year. According to Tiempo, Fernandez has actually asked his colleague to not act like a divo on their upcoming tour or show up late to rehearsals. The tour has generated a plethora of hype after Fernandez teased it on social media and then eventually made a huge unveiling of it using the same means.

For years the two were considered to be rivals, but Fernandez has been very vocal about putting aside such rumors.

Miguel has won three Grammys for Best Latin Pop Album, two Grammys for Best Mexican/ Mexican-American Album; he also has three Latin Grammy Awards to his name. His recording history includes 22 studio albums, two live albums and over 40 music videos. He has sold over 100 million records worldwide.
