This event is part of the International Cultural Festival “Ricardo Nieto” and the festivities on occasion of the 242th anniversary of Palmira city.

Camaguey folk company will perform, for the first time, with a show including the pieces Así somos and Así es mi tierra, both representing the music and dance of the conga, popular, yoruba and abakua cultures, with choreography by maestro Reinado Echemendía Estrada.

The Communications and Culture Development Department in this World Cultural Heritage city, about 570 kilometers east of Havana, stated that Así somos covers the folkloric expressions of Afro-Cuban yoruba origin of Cuban santería and bantú, regla palo monte, abakuá, of carabalí origin.

Meanwhile, Así es mi tierra focuses, in a holistic way, on Cuban popular traditional dances, as well as the mosaic of popular expressions accompanying them.
