There is also Estorvo, by Ruy Guerra, a Brazil-Portugal co production; as well as films El Sardina, by Manuel Antonio Rodríguez and Blue Moon, by Fernando Timossi.

The film Estorvo(1999), a version of Chico Buarque’s homonymous novel starring Jorge Perugorria, Aurora Basnuevo, José Antonio Rodríguez and Verónica Lynn, will be exhibited on June 9, at 5 pm; while Tres bárbaros en un jeep, (1955) an absurd comedy, will be shown on June 16,  at 5 pm.  That same day, but at 8 pm, the film Bella la salvaje, (1953), based on Suárez de Dessa’s play La dama salvaje, will be screened.

On the other hand, the 1996 short films El Sardina and Blue Moon will be screened on June 23, at 5 pm; the first one having on its cast Isabel Santos, Abel Rodríguez, Daniel Jordán, Rodolfo Jiménez, Luisa Pérez

Nieto and Miguel Navarro, and the second Adolfo Llauradó, Alina Rodríguez, Carlos Padrón and Carlos Acosta. That same day, at 8 pm, the feature film Vidas paralelas (1992) will be exhibited, starring Omar Valdés, Daisy Granados, Isabel Santos, Alicia Bustamante, Luisa Pérez Nieto, Luis Alberto García, Omar Moynello, Isabel Serrano and Lily Rentería.

Finally, on June 30, two films by prestigious Cuban playwright Eugenio Hernandez Espinosa, national Theater Award, will be exhibited: María Antonia (1990), starring Alina Rodríguez (at 5 pm), and La inútil muerte de mi socio Manolo (1989) at 8 pm and having Mario Balmaseda and Pedro Rentería in its leading roles.

Ojeada del Cine Cubano allows us a glimpse of the Cuban Cinema as a tribute to the national cinema, and a way of keeping in the people’s minds, and to acknowledge actors and actresses who are no longer among us.
