The Chinese group YTO, China’s leader in manufacturing agricultural tractors, has sold 587 machineries to Cuba and it is certainly a boost to its food production.

Pedro Sotto, general director of the Research Institute on Agricultural Engineering (IAgric), highlighted the importance of the purchase for the corporation. These machineries will be allocated to priority activities such as grains, sugar, and milk productions.

He also explained that, in line with the agreement between the Chinese enterprise and its Cuban counterpart TECNOIMPORT, the tractors are being serviced by technicians from both nations. Meanwhile, Cuban operators are trained to handle the machines in order to test the quality of the product.

This new technology will be allotted all around the country according to the policy of the Ministry of Agriculture of Cuba.
