Cubans celebrate on Wednesday the 61st anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution with several recreational activities in different places in the country and with the call of President Miguel Diaz-Canel to celebrate the achievements despite adversities.
The economic tensions caused by the resurgence of the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States will keep the Cuban people and government on alert during the next year.
Given this scenario, the president has called to work and think as a country, and to resist the external onslaught aiming to destabilize the process led by Fidel Castro on January 1, 1959.
In his speech before the Cuban Parliament on December 21, Diaz-Canel said a phrase that was set in the popular imagination, 'they shot to kill but we are alive.'
In his next message on Twitter, he pointed out that the challenge, in the midst of war, is to achieve as much prosperity as possible.
Cuba welcomes 2020 with the premise that the Revolution triumphs every time it takes away from its enemy a victory for its cause, as expressed by the head of State.
