Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel has more than 64,000 followers on the social network Twitter since he began his activity there on October 10, 2018.

To the @DiazCanelB account, an average of 800 Internet users from around the world have been added daily, after the president's initial tweet on the day that marked the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the wars for independence in Cuba.

'We are in #LaDemajagua, the place where we have the greatest amount of patriotic feelings #SomosCuba and #SomosContinuidad,' he wrote in his first message.

Since then, the president has issued about 300 tweets to inform of his presence in a province of the country or in a meeting with a foreign leader during his trips abroad, as well as to establish positions on topics of interest to the inhabitants of Cuba.

In recent days, Diaz-Canel has highlighted on Twitter the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution and called to vote for the yes in the referendum on February 24, to which more than eight million Cubans are summoned to support the new Constitution of the Republic, approved unanimously by the National Assembly a week ago.
