Miguel Díaz-Canel, President of the Cuban Council of State and Ministers, began this Wednesday morning a government visit to the province of Matanzas, which includes sites of socio-economic and cultural interest, and the Zapata Swamp.

The polyclinic in Cayo Ramona, a community located more than 200 kilometers southeast of Havana, was the first point of the Cuban President's tour.

Díaz Canel will visit the Combinado de Cítricos Victoria de Girón (Citrus processing company), in the municipality of Jagüey Grande, the Empresa Agropecuaria Lenin, in Jovellanos, and several points in Matanzas, a city in full constructive bustle that will celebrate 325 years of its foundation in October.

In the Zapata Peninsula, the Cuban president noted the recovery of the area after the effects of the recent subtropical storm Alberto, currently suitable to receive visitors arriving in the summer season.

Likewise, Salvador Valdés Mesa, first vice-president of the Councils of State and Ministers, has been visiting the port of the provincial capital city, the Juan Gualberto Gómez international airport and other work centers and entities located in the north of Matanzas territory since early Wednesday.
