Diaz-Canel: Cuba trusts its young people

Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, member of the Political Bureau of the Party´s Central Committee and First Vice-president of the Council of State and Ministers, stated today that this new generation is essential to build the Cuba we all dream of, a better and equitable society, full of solidarity and humanism, a flourishing and sustainable socialism.
Diaz-Canel Bermudez attended the final session of the National Council of FEU (Cuban Federation of University Students), held at UCI (University of Computer Science), to assess the organization work after the 8th Congress.
FEU top members focused on some hot topics such as the students’ vocation of service as well as their commitment to the Revolution. They also shared ideas and valuable experiences of social and community works the last day of meetings.
One of the hottest subjects was the participation in the second national exercise on control and monitoring of the process Sin Tregua against social indiscipline. Moreover, the support to paramount health programs, sanitation campaigns and vector control, and integral development of Cuban mountain range were also tackled in the meeting.
Other speeches focused on the students’ contribution to the highly important economic battle, productive works, from scientific research to essential tasks and projects for managerial improvement, and the advance in the process of updating Cuban economy.
Diaz-Canel Bermudez referred to these signs of real commitment, will, sacrifice, passion, and trust in the Revolution in his closing speech. He also highlighted that reality contradicts the image spread by the enemy of an indifferent and demobilized Cuban youth.
He stated that they try time after time, and spend millions to de-ideologize and “unplugged” our youth from the revolutionary path, by promoting selfishness and other evil acts.
Diaz-Canel talked about the U.S. subversive plans against Cuba, addressed to young people and actively denounced in a statement issued by the FEU on behalf of the 125,000 members of the organization.
