Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre will be lauded at the Vatican

On Thursday August 28 in the Vatican Gardens will be honored a replica of the image of the Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre, the pope Francisco reported.

The ritual will be conducted by the Secretary Emeritus of the Vatican State, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone; which participate in the Archbishop of Santiago de Cuba and president of the Bishops, Monsignor Dionisio García Ibáñez, among others. Ceremony is expected to start at 09H00 local time.

The January 24, 1998, Pope John Paul II crowned the Virgin in the Antonio Maceo, Santiago de Cuba, square during a visit to the Caribbean country.

This image accompanied him on the battlefields of the Liberation Army troops against Spanish colonialism.
