Delegations from more than a dozen countries participated at the 6th China-Latin American and Caribbean States Defense Forum, within the framework of the Xiangshan Forum on military diplomacy.
Cuba’s Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) Minister, Army Corps General Alvaro Lopez Miera, participated in this event along with some 20 senior representatives of military institutions and Chinese National Defense Minister Dong Jun.
The main theme of this meeting was “Shared Future and Win-Win Cooperation,” which is in line with the diplomacy of dialogue, collaboration, and consultation promoted by China.
The Xiangshan Forum, whose theme is “Upholding International Order and Promoting Peaceful Development,” concluded this Friday with the participation of delegates from more than 100 countries, regions, and international organizations.
Official data revealed that the event was attended by more than 1,800 participants, including more than 40 ministerial-level representatives, defense chiefs, and senior officials from the United Nations and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
The meeting included four plenary sessions and eight parallel meetings in which participants discussed global security governance, strategic confidence in the Asia-Pacific, and the evolving nature of warfare, among other issues.
Dong Jun previously held separate talks with the guests, including his Cuban counterpart, to whom he reaffirmed the excellent state of bilateral ties and China’s support for the island’s national sovereignty.
