Chabuca Granda’s Misa Criolla to Be Performed in Havana

The emblematic Misa Criolla by Peruvian singer-songwriter Chabuca Granda will be presented in Havana in a special concert, organizers announced today.

The performance will feature the Choir of Cuban Radio and Television under the direction of maestro Liagne Reyna, joined by soloists Ernesto Roel, Jesús Navaz, Camila Navarro and Karen Cruz. Together, they will bring to life a majestic work by one of Latin America’s most iconic authors, remembered for immortalizing the celebrated song La flor de la canela.

Instrumental accompaniment will be provided by guitarist, concert performer and arranger Mabel González, along with fellow guitarist Kenay Pozo. Percussion will be led by Ramón Luján, a seasoned interpreter of regional folklore.

Audiences will be able to enjoy this distinctive presentation on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. local time at the Parish of Our Lady of Charity. The event will take place under the artistic direction of Helson Hernández and with the support of the Embassy of Peru in Cuba.
