World record holder Erick Hernández will attempt to set a new global milestone today in an unprecedented ball control discipline: heading a Baseball5 ball the most times consecutively.

This will be the third record attempt this year for the athlete known as "El Dominador" (The Dominator). The challenge will take place at 10 a.m. at Havana’s Hotel Copacabana, located along the city’s coastline.

"It’s extremely difficult because the striking surface of these balls is much smaller than a soccer ball, so it requires extreme precision," Hernández told the Cuban News Agency.

The 59-year-old former soccer player will attempt to surpass 2,000 consecutive touches, estimating the feat will take approximately 30 minutes of continuous control.

In the near future, Hernández plans to adapt this innovative practice to a seated position—an even more demanding challenge due to the strain on the lower back.

A graduate in Physical Culture, the Havana native remains committed to inspiring Cubans with a message of willpower and discipline.

He expressed that the attempt is also a tribute to Cuba’s Baseball5 players, a sport that has gained significant popularity in the country after the national team secured two world championships.
