Cuba Accuses U.S. of Spreading Misinformation Campaign on Social Media
especiales

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez denounced recent social media posts by the U.S. Department of State, describing them as false, disrespectful, and irresponsible.
Rodríguez stated that the posts reflect the frustration of anti-Cuban sectors involved in what he called an inhumane campaign against the Cuban people.
In a statement published on X, Rodríguez said those sectors, lacking support from the vast majority of Americans, Cubans, and the international community, are desperately seeking taxpayer funding to stage provocations and to promote an unjustified course of bilateral confrontation.
In recent days, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel also denounced what he described as ongoing efforts by the U.S. government to subdue Cuba through economic suffocation, causing harm to the population.
Speaking before the National Assembly of People's Power, Díaz-Canel asserted that since the first administration of Donald Trump (2017–2021), the current Republican leadership has aimed to cut off all avenues of access to critical financing necessary for the normal functioning of the Cuban economy.
Díaz-Canel noted that the Trump administration publicly declared its intent to intensify pressure on Cuba through a National Security Presidential Memorandum, which included what he called the unacceptable inclusion of Cuba on the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism.
The Cuban president emphasized that this hostility has reinforced the blockade policy to unprecedented levels, significantly multiplying the impact of coercive measures on the national economy and, by extension, on the standard of living of the Cuban population.
