Villa Clara Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Elects New First Secretary

The members of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in Villa Clara elected Susely Morfa as First Secretary today.
During a plenary session presided over by the PCC’s Organization Secretary, Roberto Morales, and at the request of the Political Bureau, Osnay Miguel Colina was relieved of his duties as First Secretary of the province.
Participants in the plenary session acknowledged Colina’s performance, who led the organization for over three years, and his contributions to implementing and fulfilling the priorities set by the Party during this period.
According to the PCC’s website, Colina will be assigned other responsibilities.
Morfa, aged 42, is a member of the Central Committee of the PCC and previously served as head of its Department of Attention to the Social Sector.
The newly elected secretary of the organization in Villa Clara holds a degree in Psychology and is a deputy in the National Assembly of People’s Power.
She has served for 21 years in political leadership roles, initially in the Communist Youth Union, where she held positions as Second and First Secretary of the National Committee.
Within the Party, she was a member of the Executive Bureau overseeing political-ideological activities and served as First Secretary of the Provincial Committee in Matanzas before being promoted to the auxiliary structure of the Central Committee.
